DATABASE SECURITY
It is the mechanisms that protect the database against intentional of accidental threats. Database security should provide controlled and protected access to the members and also should preserve the overall quality of the data. This protects data from unknown access, prevent unauthorized disclosure and helps recover from hardware and software errors. Database security also refers to the measures used in protecting and securing a database or database management software from illicit use and vindictive threats. It is a broad term that includes a large processes, tools and methodologies that certain a security within a database environment.
There are ways database security is analyzed and implemented:
· Restricting of unknown access and use by implementing strong access and data management controls.
· Load testing and capacity testing of a database to make sure it does not crash in a user overload.
· Physical security of the database server and backup equipment from theft and natural disasters.
