To keep your network secure always use an encryption key in your access point to prevent people from hacking your network it is recommended to is WPA2 encryption for better protection protocol that other security method.
Network name (SSID) Service set identifier
Never use your own personal information in (SSID) Service set identifier it is the name of your network or short Wi-Fi name use a common name in the Wi-Fi like Linksys because having someone knowing your Wi-Fi can give a great disadvantage especially if you own a business and you used your business name in the Wi-Fi he/she can track you just by knowing the name of your Wi-F. So it’s recommended to use any other name that wouldn’t put your business and network in risk.
Anti-Virus Software
Always make sure to use the best anti-virus I would mostly recommend Kaspersky Total protection and Bitdefender having the best anti-virus is reliable than the free version it would keep your network secure. People tend to use the free anti-virus because it's free and provide protection but it doesn't provide as much protection as the paid anti-virus. I recommended using Avast free anti-virus it provide good protection but I would like to tell that using a free anti-virus means giving your personal information to the company of the anti-virus you installed for free all of your personal information shall be with the company without your consent but in agreeing the agreement and terms you accepting those conditions but they shall only you’re your information for marketing and not for malicious intent.
Data management zone
If any chance you have a web server in a business it is recommended to use a (DMZ) data management zone it is an extra security layer that protects email, accessing the web application and other application that requires access to the internet.
Scan Exploits Daily
Scan for exploits daily to know if there is any vulnerability in your web server and stay updated on your domain registry and change the password of your network regularly to stay protected.
Disable any file sharing except in your web server
Never activates your File sharing system in public area by doing that people can get access to your file like printing once you want to print you have to access the printer through wireless but the shall activate sharing network, it means that your PC is vulnerable and can be accessed so it is recommended to activate it only in a safe place like at home.
VPN (Virtual Private network)
If access to a network and it doesn't trust it is recommended to use (VPN) Virtual private network access to a Wi-Fi means the person who controls the Wi-Fi can access and gain information on everything you do on the web like gaining personal information, credit card name and account, and knowing your privacy etc. The VPN help the user to change their IP Address and the location of the IP Address it can make the user network anonymous and prevent access from other to your network.
