Top Issues in Network Security
By John Guerrero

Nowadays, some people tend to expend their time by surfing the internet, scrolling through social media, checking email, news and especially personal financial information. These kind of information are the biggest target of a hacker, and now recently the two or more companies in the Philippines were hit in a global ransomware attack, but most have stimulated quickly to cover the damage. Now how we going to make sure that all of our information are safe in our hands.

Here some Top issues
1. Unsecured Network Access Passwords

Most of the network system are always outdated. So, it means it can easy to penetrate the securities. In order to improve this by implementing the “CAPTCHA Technology” the CAPTCHA requires the user to type letters or numbers for a distorted picture. This will prevent the internet bots to accessing websites or networks.
To create a c
omplex password, make a two words that combine together with at least three or more number or special characters. Network security should entail the complexity of passwords to ensure the security of a network,

2. Cookies

These cookies are usually used to records of persons browsing histories. With these cookies they can open your system to a XSS (Cross Site Scripting) exposure and that is an issues privacy concern. If they access your cookies they can login data cookies and save the password sessions on a network, that will create a major vulnerability on your network security system
To ensure all of your cookies are encrypted and put an expiration time. Any users should force to re-login any time they accessing a databases or confidential directories in your network

3. Botnets

Cybercriminals use some of special Trojan viruses to break the security of several users’ computers, take control of each computer and organize all of the infected machines into a network of ‘bots’ that the criminal can remotely manage.
To ensure you are protected, install some effective anti-virus or anti-malware software it will help to protect your computer against Trojans and other threats. Like “Kaspersky” or “Malwarebytes” and always make sure your anti-virus is always updated.

4. Advance Phishing Scams

Most phishing scams are fairly transparent, and sophisticated users rarely fall for pop-ups asking for a password even though less-sophisticated users are still vulnerable to these. Worse, attacks could soon include a password text box cloned over a legitimate one to trick users into distributing their passwords to an attacker. Google is now developing a special password-alert feature to help protect against future incoming phishing attacks.

5. Outdated Server Application

Companies constantly release re-patches in order to ensure that your system is not vulnerable to new public terrorizations. Hackers consistently release new threats and exploits which could allow damage to befall your network if these patches are not updated.

To ensure your system administrator is regularly informed of new threats and is updating your applications on a monthly basis. By this method it will ensure your protection to any threats.

Technologies are growing so fast. We must always sure we are protected to all threats, ensure all our data and information. Always update your software’s and applications to keep the invulnerability of your system.
